- A lot of our video will be cut to the music especially towards the end
"red knights, white knights, marching into the fight."
and on the chorus where the long drawn out notes "Alice" will be in slow motion and then sped up for the faster parts. This will also work with the structure of the song where the verses are not as fast paced but the chorus (although in slow motion) will have the feeling of urgency.
2. Narrative/Performance
- As Andrew Goodwin suggests our music video narrative is not fully complete. Throughout most of the video we see Alice running/searching for something but it is not revealed to be a key until the last chorus. The key is given to the Mad Hatter and it is implied that the key opens the chest but it is not fully explained - leaving it open to the audience.
- For authenticity, we couldn't have the lead singer as the lead actor/actress since the lead singer is a boy but to keep he video authentic we will make sure the singer lip syncs and the band look as if they are playing their instruments/actually playing.
3. The Star Image
- In our video our band will be portrayed to be fun and up for a laugh but also a group of trouble makers (hence the smashing clocks and throwing powder paint at each other/around/Alice.) We will also have a lot of performance shots so that the audience gets to known the band as this is their debut music video.
4. Relations of Visuals to the Song
- Our music video will probably be a mix between Illustrate and Amplify as we will be illustrating a lot of the lyrics and their meaning ("she's unlocked the meaning") however we will have a degree of repeatability (Alice searching, Alice's playing chess, the tea party) so our music video falls into both categories.
5. Technical Aspects
- We will be using a range of camera shots and angles in our music video including close ups and extreme close ups, long shots, high and low angles and a few tilted angles/dutch tilts. With our editing we will be trying out a range of ideas for our clips to see which will work better including, high contrast, black and white for the bands performance or just a grainy effect and a flickering effect on certain shots to make them darker/creepier.
- For the mise-en-scene we will be using a variety of props that link to the theme of Alice in Wonderland including clocks, little bottles saying Drink Me, rose petals and tea cups/tea set for the tea party.

- We are going to style our Alice character partly off the Madness Returns Alice (dark hair and eyes and a darker 'look') but stick with the conventional blue dress seen in the Disney film, Tim Burton film and original book.
